As spring begins, Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) begins as small, feathery leaflets emerging from the forest floor, before it begins its journey to its mature form, topped with dome-shaped clusters of small white flowers. If crushed, a strong herbaceous \scent can be noticed. These Yarrow leaves were harvested in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and dried gently.

- Crushed leaves have been used as an anticoagulant for wounds and nosebleeds. Tea from the leaves has been used to soothe colds, fevers, and headaches. Tinctures were used for heavy periods, tension, blood clot prevention, and weak digestion.
- Metaphysical: This plant has a very wide variety of correspondences, such as: attraction, balance, beauty, calm, confidence, courage, defense, divination, fertility, growth, guidance, happiness, healing, psychic and spiritual protection, love, luck, emotional strength, success, and weather.
