Plantago lanceolata, or Narrowleaf Plantain, has long been a staple for medicinal herbalism, despite that it is often overlooked as a very common weed in lawns, fields, and other grassy, flat areas. Personally, I have found it to be the best remedy for insect stings and bites, especially when applied as soon as possible to the site - far out-classing the broadleaf variety. It is also edible and nutritious, contiaining significant amounts of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, phosphorous, potassium, and beta-carotene.

Please note that this herb is sensitive to browning when dried (no matter how gentle you are with it, I have found!), and any darkening of the leaves is expected and normal.

Other names include: Buckhorn Plantain, English Plantain, Lance Leaf Plantain, Ribwort Plantain, Strap Leaf Plantain
