White Betony (Dried)

White Betony (Stachys albens), also called Whitetem Hedge Nettle, is part of the mint (Lamiaceae) family, and endemic to California. It has the classic square stem of mint, but it is very hairy along the stem and leaves. It does not sting, like its cousin Stinging Nettle.

This product is sold by volume, and contains 1 cup (c) or 8 ounces (oz) by volume (not weight) of hand-gathered leaves of the wild-grown plant.

Similar to self-heal, this product is a good, all-around choice for making you feel better, even if you're not sure what the problem is. It has numerous benefits in teas, tinctures, ointments, and has even been placed under pillows in a small pouch to assist with sleep. Other ailments it has been known to improve are: headaches, insomnia, "spaciness", vertigo, poor concentration, anxiety, and memory loss.

Its metaphysical properties also follow a pattern of relating to the mind and sleep. It has correspondences with: easing or releasing anxiety, awareness, calm, dream work, energy, harmony, healing, love/relationships, ending or subduing nightmares, purification, security, and witchcraft.
